XÀBIA’S MUNICIPAL MUSEUM ATTRACTED 23,000 VISITS DURING 2023

The busiest months for the museum were April, August and December.

The Soler Blasco Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum, located in the heart of the historic centre of Xàbia, attracted 23,047 visits during 2023, a figure that confirms the great value of the permanent exhibition of the history of the town and its surroundings as well as the seasonal exhibitions that it hosts throughout the year.

According to figures provided by the museum’s director, Ximo Bolufer, there were 17,455 individual visits whilst 5,592 visits were by groups. The busiest months were April (Easter), August and December (Christmas) with over 2,500 visits.

With regards to the origin of the visitors to the museum, 7,680 people were from different parts of Spain, 4,684 were from across Europe, 1,149 were from the Comunitat Valenciana, whilst 1,123 visits were by local people.

Of these visitors, the majority were retired people of national and foreign origin (2,204) whilst 1,731 were children from schools across Xàbia and 254 were from schools in other parts of the Comunitat Valenciana. Some 894 people visited the museum for talks and various events.

The councillor responsible for Culture, Mavi Pérez (CPJ), said that the number of visits highlights the quality of the permanent exhibition of the municipal museum as well as the different seasonal exhibitions that are hosted throughout the year.

She also thanked the work of the museum staff and especially the director Ximo Bolufer for his “continuous research” and the “great affection” with which he has carried out his responsibilities every day.

The Soler Blasco Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum is located in Plaça dels Germans Segarra, just a few seconds walk from the church square and tourist office.
