Next year, Xàbia will be hosting an important exhibition on Cristóbal Balenciaga, one of the greatest references in dressmaking and the most prominent figure in the history of Spanish fashion. The year 2022 will mark the 50th anniversary of his death (he died in Xàbia) and the Council wants to remember this extraordinary figure and his connection with the town.
Mayor José Chulvi and councillor Quico Moragues (Culture) met with the curator of the exhibition, the Guipuzcoan photographer, Pedro Usabiaga, who together with his team has already been able to visit the municipal exhibition halls and begin to specify the details of the exhibition as well as the other complementary activities that will accompany it. The show will be scheduled in the summer, thus expending the diverse cultural offer.
