Xàbia Council has opened the contracting procedure for the drafting of the basic and execution projects to create a new classroom for two-year-old students at CEIP L’Arenal, a project that will go to public tender with an opening price of 13,380.81 euros including IVA.
Specifically, it is intended to adapt the space that was used as a caretaker’s house when the school first opened, adapting it to the special needs of the smallest students, creating integrated toilets and other spaces for eating and resting in addition to the education and coexistence space.
CEIP Arenal and CEIP Trenc d’Alba are the schools in Xàbia where the Generalitat Valenciana has already launched early incorporation into the public education system with the opening of classrooms for two-year-olds.
The councilor responsible for Education, Montse Villaverde, explained that these classrooms are a resource with a concept similar to that of a nursery but free of charge and fully integrated into the life of the school. They share hours and facilities with the rest of primary school, with some adaptations due to the characteristics of the children.
