Xàbia summer music festival will take place from July 9th to 12th
The free concerts will be hosted inside the church of San Bartolome.
The Department of Culture has confirmed that the 38th edition of the popular summer festival Música a l’Estiu will be taking place between Tuesday 9th July and Friday 12th July in the heart of the historic centre of Xàbia.
The 2024 edition, organised in collaboration with the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Xàbia, will be filling the summer nights with free music from inside the historic church of San Bartolomé.
On Tuesday 9th July at 9.00pm, the festival will kick off with 26-year-old Korean pianist Jeongin Kim, who graduated from the Higher School of Music of Seoul National University with one of the highest grades and won first prize at the Karlrobert Kreiten Klavierwettbewerb in 2022.
On Wednesday 10th July at 9.00pm, there will be a duet with Joaquín Riquelme (viola) and José Enrique Bagaria (piano). Riquelme is a member of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra whilst Bagaria is a professor at the Conservatorio Superior del Liceu de Barcelona.
On Thursday 11th July at 9.00pm, it will be the turn of the group ‘Spanish Brass’, a quintet made up of Carlos Benetó (trumpet), Juanjo Serna (trumpet), Manolo Pérez (horn), Indalecio Bonet (trombone) and Sergio Finca (tuba).
Finally, on Friday 12th July at 9.00pm, the concert “Amb Denominació d’Origen Xàbia” with Darío González (guitar) and Pepi Lloret (soprano) and a second part with the Gorgutes clarinet quartet of Miguel García, Claudia García, Pedro Roberto and Javier Bernabeu.
