Xàbia strengthens its service as the high season kicks into gear
More than 40 additional personnel will be responsible for urban waste collection and street and beach cleaning.

Xàbia has been preparing to welcome visitors for one of the busiest weekends of the year when the municipality experiences a notable increase in population which requires greater attention to the management of public spaces to ensure that both residents and tourists enjoy a clean, orderly, and welcoming town.
For this reason, Xàbia Council has activated a special programme to reinforce cleaning and waste collection services, coinciding with the transition from low season to high season, which officially begins with the arrival of Semana Santa. This change entails an adaptation of both the material and human resources dedicated to these tasks with the aim of maintaining the high standard of quality in the image of the municipality.
The contracted company has planned a significant increase in operational staff. During weekdays (Monday to Saturday) the reinforcement will result in the addition of a total of 42 additional personnel. Specifically, twelve people have been added to the team responsible for urban solid waste collection, twenty more people have been added to the street cleaning service, and another ten will be dedicated specifically to cleaning and maintaining the municipal beaches. On Sundays and holidays, the operation will be adapted to the intensity of the day with a reinforced team of 33 people.
In addition, the sewage and storm water networks have been inspected to ensure their proper functioning, given the increased use during these busy days, thus ensuring proper management of wastewater and storm water disposal.
The council expressly appreciates the involvement and efforts of the cleaning staff, both regular and additional, whose work contributes to projecting the best image of Xàbia during these key days for tourism and the local economy. It also calls for public collaboration so that everyone can take care of the municipality’s urban and natural environment by depositing waste in designated areas and respecting the opening hours and rules for the use of public spaces.
