Friday 21st January 2022 – PRESS RELEASE with Mike Smith

Xàbia has joined the Generalitat Valenciana’s Jove Oportunitat (JOOP) initiative created to guide young people between 16 and 21 years of age who have left their studies and thus motivate them to rejoin the educational system through Intermediate Vocational Training.

The initiative is part of the Institut Valencià de la Juventut and is financed by the European Social Fund-Youth Employment Initiative. JOOP is guided by pedagogical professionals who work on the motivation of young people in order to strengthen their self-esteem and help them build a comprehensive life project.

It will be carried out as follows in Xàbia: registered people will meet during school hours with a coach who will offer them information about the different options offered by VT from a practical approach, with visits to companies where they will be able to learn first-hand the real work that each degree entails and thus motivate their vocation.

In order to participate in this initiative, the guidance services of the Xàbia institutes and the María Inmaculada school have some forms that can be completed until January 28th. They can also be requested from the Youth area of the Casa de la Cultura in Plaça del Baix in the heart of the historic centre.

For many years, you’ve told us how much you love what we’re doing and some of you have even asked for ways to say thanks. For us, there really is nothing easier to show someone how much you appreciate their efforts than buying them a beer (or a wine; or even a coffee) – it’s so simple.
