Xàbia presents new organic waste container in four monuments
The Street Marketing action aims to generate expectation among the residents of Xàbia by presenting the new organic containers
Residents of Xàbia woke up with a curious and striking Street Marketing initiative: four ‘monuments’ dedicated to the organic separation of waste, strategically located in high-traffic areas. This action has aroused the interest and curiosity of residents, who have come to observe and comment on them.
These monuments, which at first glance seem like simple urban sculptures, are actually an innovative way of presenting the new containers intended for the collection of organic waste. Under the motto “Te presentamos la orgánica“, the information panels explain the importance of this new waste separation which will begin to be implemented intensively across Xàbia.
One of the most notable features of these new containers is that they will be locked, a gesture that underlines the value of the organic separation. This mechanism not only protects the contents, but also ensures that only organic waste is placed in compostable bags, thus avoiding contamination with other types of waste. The correct separation of this waste is crucial to achieve the recovery and recycling objectives established by European regulations, significantly reducing the tons of garbage sent to landfill.
The councillor responsible for Waste Collection, Juanjo García (PP), explained that the introduction of organic separation is a fundamental step towards the circular economy. “It is not just about reducing waste directed to landfill, but about transforming organic waste into valuable resources that promote a more sustainable and environmentally friendly economy“.
The initiative is accompanied by a robust environmental education and awareness campaign. Visits to large waste producers, talks for local groups and associations, and educational activities in schools have been planned. “Young people play a crucial role in spreading the message about the importance of recycling organic waste,” added the councilor.
All residents of Xàbia are asked to actively participate in this new stage of waste management. With these actions, it is expected not only to improve the recycling rate, but also to promote greater environmental awareness among citizens.
