The Local Policía de Xàbia organised and hosted a training course on procedures and actions to follow in the face of possible threats in schools, a workshop attended by police officers from across the region, including Alcoi, Calp, Elx, Monòver, Lliber, Pedreguer, Pego, L’Alcudia de Crespins, Teulada, Vilareal and Xàbia.

The training consisted of eight hour of theoretical and practical units and was given by specialist officers led by Enrique Such (Policía Local de Benidorm and member of the Asociación Española de Instructores de Tiro Policial, the Spanish Association of Police Firearms Instructors), supported by Nicolás Sirvent (Policía Local de Villajoyosa) and Fernando Escolano, an experienced police officer from Xàbia.

The practical part was carried out in spaces that simulated different environments of education centres, with the officers facing various scenarios and resolve the emergency in stressful situations using CQB (close-quarter battle) techniques and tactical methods in urban confrontation, neutralization of threats and the arrest of agressors, location of weapons and evacuation of victims from the centres.

The officers also carried out real shooting practices in the shooting range in the police station of the Policía Local de Xàbia, a series of marked objectives to be passed to obtain the certificate of achievement.

The workshop was attended by councillor Juan Ortolá (Security) who confirmed the commitment of the local government to the training of its local police officers. This training is fundamental for the development of the officers to be able to guarantee a police response to meet the demands of today’s society.

For many years, you’ve told us how much you love what we’re doing and some of you have even asked for ways to say thanks. For us, there really is nothing easier to show someone how much you appreciate their efforts than buying them a beer (or a wine; or even a coffee) – it’s so simple.
