Xàbia police take part in European security workshop in Turin

Local police officers participated in the workshop alongside officers from Nice, Gdansk, Liege and Leeds.

The Xàbia Local Police has actively participated in the Local Governance Workshop held last week in Turin (Italy) and in a training session held at its police academy.

Officers Fernando Gaona and Paqui Castell took part in the workshop and the training with other police officers from European bodies and experts from various disciplines within the European project PACTESUR sponsored by the European Union, and of which Xàbia is participated along with Nice (France) Gdansk (Poland), Liege (Belgium) and Leeds (United Kingdom), among others.

In addition, Chief Superintendent, José Antonio Monfort, attended the Local Governance workshop for the protection of public space, a police and security forum in which various tools for the protection of public events have been studied and debated.

The police force has highlighted that next year, Xàbia will host the last annual meeting of this project that will end in 2022, thus becoming the epicenter of security strategies and the analysis and debates of the experts in the matter, for a few days at least.
