Xàbia opens application period for scholarships for young athletes

A total of 12,000 euros of municipal funding is available to young athletes in the town to support their training and participation in competition.

The Department of Sports in Xàbia has opened the application period for young local athletes to apply for scholarships, which should be made online through the town hall’s electronic registry until Wednesday 5th January 2021.

The scholarships are worth a total of 12,000 euros and are intended to assist in the expenses that might be occurred in the preparation and training required by aspiring athletes, who would become references and models for the youth in the town, to promote their improvement.

The funding, which varies according to demand between 100 euros and 1,200 euros, is aimed at young athletes who were between 9 years old and 35 years old during 2020 and are registered as resident in Xàbia or have been members of a local sports club or association for at least two years.

The funding assistance can be requested by those who are federated or registered as athletes with Jocs Esportius CV, being linked to an active sports association and participating in provincial, regional, national, and international competitions.

The requirements of the application for assessment are details in the terms and conditions as well as other requirements that will be taken into account (trips, overnight stays, the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the activity).
