Xàbia marks Women Writers Day with an evening with Pepa Guardiola

The writer from Xàbia will have a chat and read some passages from her books.

October 15th is Women Writers Day, a Spanish initiative to recover the legacy of women writers, make visible the work of women in literature and combat the  discrimination they have suffered throughout history, and the Municipal Public Library in Xàbia has chosen to mark this special day with an evening with the most relevant and recognised writers in the town – Pepa Guardiola.

The evening will take place on Friday 15th October at 8.00pm at the Casa de la Cultura in Plaça del Baix in the heart of the historic centre and will be free to attend; the doors will remain open until the venue capacity is reached. During the evening, Pepa Guardiola will have a chat and read some passages from her books.

The municipal library has also prepared a PDF which is available on the municipal website here with some biographical information about the writer from Xàbia and a compilation of her work with a summary of her books and a list of stories written for many media.

Pepa Guardiola i Chorro is a feminist, retired teacher and writer, in love with the land and culture of the Valencian land. As a writer she has published short stories for all ages, more than thirty books of children’s and youth literature, two novels for adult readers and numerous stories in different media and in books of collective narratives.
