The music festival has established itself as a benchmark within the folk scene.

The Xàbia Folk 2025 music festival has unveiled its lineup for its 25rd edition, which will take place from April 11th to May 10th. Once again, the event features a carefully curated selection of artists who combine tradition and modernity within the folk scene. Furthermore, this year’s edition places special emphasis on productions created by and starring women, reflecting their consolidation in the contemporary folk scene.
The festival will start on Friday 25th April at 7.30pm in the Casa de Cultura in Plaça del Baix with a concert-presentation by ATAXÍA. This Greek-Valencian band is known for its reinterpretation of Greek ‘rebetiko’, a genre with deep historical roots that conveys messages of peace and social justice.
On the same evening, at 10.30pm in the Plaza de la Constitución, Aranese singer-songwriter ALIDÉ SANS will perform her show ‘Arraïtz’. Sans, recognized for her work in promoting the Occitan language and culture, combines tradition and modernity in her compositions, utilizing 21st-century musical tools.
The festival will continue in May with a program alternating between emerging and veteran artists, both locally and from other regions.
On Friday 9th May, there will be two concerts. The first will be a 12.00pm at the Riurau d’Arnauda, a puppet shot entitled ‘Titiriteros de Binéfar’ whilst the second, at 10.30pm in Plaza de la Constitución, will feature CAROLA ORTIZ, a singer, clarinetist, composer and musical researcher active in the jazz, song, folklore and world music scenes.
On Saturday 10th May at 10.30pm at the Plaza de la Constitución, KLEZMERAMA will bring its energy and Jewish musical tradition to the festival with a repertoire of Klezmer music and the rich culture of Yiddish theater, respecting its original Yiddish texts and also adapting them lyrically to Spanish and English.
On Sunday 11th May at 12.00pm at the Ermita de Santa Llúcia, the festival will close with an intimate performance by SILVESTRES, a roots polyphony group formed by Núria Garcia, Heura Gaya and Arantxa Broto, which gives voice to the forgotten songs of the intangible heritage of Ponent in Catalonia.
All Xàbia Folk concerts will be free, allowing residents and visitors to enjoy a high-quality event in unique settings such as Plaza de la Constitución, Riurau d’Arnauda, and the Ermita de Santa Llúcia.
This festival, organized by the Xàbia Council in collaboration with the Alicante Provincial Council, has established itself as a benchmark within the folk scene, promoting diversity and innovation without losing the essence of traditional music.
