Xàbia, Dénia and Gata de Gorgos begin Montgó joint fire surveillance campaign
The campaign has begun a month earlier than normal and has no finish date.
The local security forces of Xàbia, Dénia and Gata de Gorgos have begun a joint Montgó surveillance campaign, an coordinated operation to cover the entire perimeter of the natural park environment in the face of the risk of fires, for the first time, has no finish date.
Last week the plenary hall in Xàbia hosted the coordination meeting attended by Xàbia mayoress, Rosa Cardona, the councilor responsible for Security in Dénia, Javier Scotto, and for Gata de Gorgos, Joanvi Vallés as well as the lieutenant of the Guardia Civil based in Xàbia, the Fire Chief of the Dénia Fire Station and representatives of ACIF-Marina Alta, Volunteers of Balcón al Mar, the Protección Civil in Dénia, Xàbia and Gata/Pedreguer as well as the heads of the local police in Dénia and Xàbia.
During the meeting it was agreed to start the joint surveillance campaign of the Montgó, which is beginning a month earlier than usual and different areas of responsibility were distributed amongst the different units. In addition, there was also a thank you to all the units that participated in the fire that occurred a few weeks ago in the Hedra ravine in Xàbia and spread to the municipalities of Gata de Gorgos and Dénia.
