Xàbia Council approves municipal budget for 2025
Prioritises investments in the cultural, social and environmental fields, improves the safety of residents and increases investment in cleaning and maintenance of streets, beaches and green areas.
Xàbia Council has achieved an important milestone by approving the municipal budget for 2025, the first since 2022. This achievement fulfills the objective of responsible financial management and a strategic vision aimed at the well-being of residents and the sustainable development of the municipality.
The total budget is €46,890,000 in both its expenditure and income statements, ensuring the financial balance necessary to face current and future challenges. Also worth noting is the AMJASA budget, whose forecast amounts to €13,792,400.00 in income and €12,986,760.00 in expenses.
Mayor Rosa Cardona has stressed the importance of this budget as a transformative tool to unblock stagnant projects and promote sustainable development. “This budget is the lever which starts the journey to return to Xabia to the place where it is worth being,” she claimed, adding that “it would have become a bad habit not to have a municipal budget“.
The 2025 budget prioritises key investments in the cultural, social and environmental fields. One of the most significant projects is the rehabilitation of the Casa dels Xolbi, a historic building that will be transformed into a cultural space serving the entire municipality. The commitment to sustainability is also reinforced through actions on the sewage network and the distribution of treated water for agricultural use, managed by the municipal company AMJASA. These initiatives contribute to guaranteeing a balanced and environmentally friendly environment.
Citizen security is another central focus of the budget with a 39.85% increase in resources allocated to the Policía Local de Xàbia. This will allow for an increase in staff, improved working conditions for officers and better resources, ensuring a safer and more peaceful environment for all residents. In addition, more than 8.4 million euros have been allocated to the cleaning and maintenance of beaches, streets and green areas, thus consolidating the commitment to the quality of public spaces.
