XÀBIA CHILDREN AWARDED SPECIAL PRIZE BY VALENCIA
Mayor José Chulvi and councillor Montse Villaverde met with Tania Ferrer Ribes to see the award in person.
On October 9th – Día de la Comunitat Valenciana – the President of the Generalitat presented special awards of ‘High Distinction’ on behalf to the regional government to selected people in the region for their role and commitment in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ceremony, shown live on regional television, included a youngster from Xàbia, Tania Ferrer Ribes, who represented the town’s Consell dels Xiquets – the Children’s Council – to receive the award on behalf of all the children in the Comunidad Valenciana.
This week Xàbia mayor José Chulvi and councillor Montse Villaverde (Education) met with Tania to listen to her experience in Valencia and see the special award in person.
The mayor expressed his pride at the behaviour of Xàbia’s young people during the State of Alarm lockdown, calling their response “incredible”, and praised their continuing responsible attitude during the difficult return to school after such a long break.
