Xàbia celebrates Book Week with varied cultural programme
The programme features documentaries, presentation, concerts and something for the young ones.

The Department of Culture and the Municipal Library will be celebrating this year’s International Book Day (April 23rd) with a diverse programme of events ranging from historical and heritage interest to music and children’s theatre.
Wednesday 21st April 2021, 7.00pm
The presentation of the recovery and renovation project of the Castell de la Grandella and its environment that is being prepared by Xàbia Council.

The screening of a documentary produced by Info TV À Punt about the figure of Amado Granell, one of the Valencians who led the Republican unit known as “La Nueve” which liberated Paris from Nazi occupation.

To mark International Book itself, a presentation of the translation of Paul Verlaine’s poem “De la Gran Sofa Soc Parell” into Valencian by Carles Mulet.

A jazz concert by the Valencia Hot Five, a quintet led by Kike Berenguer which offers one of the most exclusive Dixieland sounds in the country. A banja, a tuba, a saxophone, drums and a lot of talent. Tickets cost 5 euros which should be pre-reserved by telephone on 96 579 43 44.
