Xàbia has been awarded the Tourism Excellence Award in the Family Coastal Destination category by 8 Mediterráneo, a recognition that highlights the municipality’s efforts to transform its tourism model towards a more sustainable, family-friendly and environmentally friendly approach.
The award ceremony took place at the iconic Palau Ducal de los Borja in Gandía, an event that brought together various institutions and companies that work for tourism excellence. Representing Xàbia, the award was received by mayor Rosa Cardona and the councillor responsible for Tourism, José Marcos Pons.

This recognition supports the strategy promoted by the local council to reorient tourism in the municipality towards a quality model, focused on families and the preservation of the natural and cultural heritage of Xàbia. In this sense, the mayor, Rosa Cardona, highlighted the importance of this award during her speech: “We continue working with a clear objective: to establish ourselves as a quality family destination, where families find not only unique beaches and landscapes, but also culture, gastronomy and authentic experiences. But above all, a message, that this is a unique environment and it must be cared for and respected. We want responsible tourism, which respects our traditions and our natural environment“.
This award encourages the council to continue in this direction, continued Cardona, who assured that she will continue working to promote a balanced, sustainable and respectful tourism model. She also shared the award with all those who, in one way or another, make it possible for Xàbia to continue being a benchmark for quality and hospitality.
