VIRUS UPDATE: 2 outbreaks in the Marina Alta; Pedreguer and Pego
The Comunidad Valenciana has administered 198,579 vaccine doses against the coronavirus.

4,310 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed through PCR or antigen tests; by province, the distribution of these new cases is 606 in Castellón, 2,046 in Valencia, and 1,658 in Alicante. In total, 352,502 positive cases have been recorded in the Comunidad Valenciana. There are currently 7 unassigned cases.
Outbreaks
There have been a total of 70 new outbreaks of the disease across the Comunidad Valenciana sine the last update; by province, the distribution is 9 in Castellón, 36 in Valencia, and 24 in Alicante, of which 2 were in the Marina Alta region, affecting 7 people, as follows:
- Pedreguer: 1 outbreak (4 cases – social)
- Pego: 1 outbreak (3 cases – social)
There have now been 83 outbreaks of the coronavirus in the Marina Alta in 2021.
The origins of the new outbreaks in the Valencian region can be assigned 67% social, 27% education, 6% work.
Active Cases
The data shows that there are currently 51,129 active cases of COVID-19 in the Comunidad Valenciana, with represents 14.05% of the total number of positives cases recorded.
Deaths
There have been 104 deaths from COVID-19, bringing the total for the Comunidad Valenciana to 5,582 people; by province, the distribution of the deaths is 666 Castellón, 2,852 Valencia, and 2,064 Alicante.
Hospitalization
There are 3,235 people currently in hospitals across the Comunidad Valenciana who are being treated for the COVID-19 infection; by province, the distribution is 337 Castellón with 53 patients in ICU, 1,599 Valencia with 317 in ICU, and 1,299 Alicante with 232 in ICU.
Recoveries
7,565 new recoveries from COVID-19 have been registered; in total, 307,269 people in the Comunidad Valenciana have overcome the disease since the pandemic began.
Vaccination
198,579 doses of the vaccination have been administered throughout the Comunidad Valenciana. A total of 88,412 people have completed the vaccination programme in our region.
