Feeling active, perhaps a swim. Turn right from the garden gate and a minute away is the enormous communal pool and slides that the kids (whatever age) will absolutely love. It boasts a children’s pool, an ample sun terrace on which to sunbathe and in high season there are lifeguards and a bar service. Car parking is either close to the pool or walk just 100 metres left from the gate, 5 minutes further and you reach the local supermarket handy for fresh baked breakfast pastries. The Arenal with its beachside promenade, myriad restaurants, cafes, bars and shops is a flat and easy 15-minute stroll.
