Veteran defender Christian Castells joins CD Jávea
The 36-year-old has vast experience playing in Greece, Italy, Ireland and Romania.

CD Jávea has made its eighth new signing of the summer with veteran central defender Christian Castells joining the club from last season’s group champions CFI Alicante. In the football world, he really needs no introduction and will become a valuable asset for the club, having vast experience playing football at different levels across Europe.
The 36-year-old defender captained CFI Alicante to the championship last season, featuring in all 26 games, for the phoenix club. His vast experience includes playing for the Lincoln Red Imps in the Gibraltar Premier Division in 2017/2018, another championship season, as well as Derry City in the League of Ireland Premier Division, FC Ceahlăul Piatra Neamț in the Romanian Second Division, PD Terracina and Olbia Calcio 1905 in the Italian Serie D and FC Platanias in the Greek Super League 1.
Powerful in the air and with intelligent ball distribution from the back, Castells will bring great experience to Jávea’s defensive line.
