The president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig, has announced that the regional government has activated more than 375 million euros in aid from the PLAN RESISTIR campaign, which is aimed at supporting the business sectors most affected by the crisis generated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The president made the announcement after the meeting of the PLAN RESISTIR monitoring commission, which included Minister of Finance and Economic Model, Vicent Soler; Minister of Education, Culture and Sports, Vicent Marzá; Minister of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Commerce and Labor, Rafa Climent; and Minister of Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility, Arcadi España.
After the meeting, Puig assured that every effort is being made so that “no viable company disappears” and to keep all the jobs. Likewise, he explained that the objective is “to guarantee the continuity of the activity during this pause” until the vaccination programme has become more widespread and “to recover normality in our society.”
The president has announced that the transfer of the funds to the municipalities which have signed up to the AYUDAS PARÉNTESIS initiative has already begun, an aid package worth some 160 million euros, of which 100 million euros has been provided by the Generalitat Valenciana.
Puig explained that currently 444 municipalities have joined the initiative, which will be receiving the funding to be able to “reach all the self-employed and affected companies as quickly as possible.” These funds will make it possible to distribute financial support worth 2,000 euros for each self-employed person and for each micro-company, which will be increased by an additional 200 euros per employee under their charge, up to a maximum of 10,000 euros.
The president also explained that the application period for requesting financial assistance worth some 80 million euros has been opened today Thursday and is aimed at companies and self-employed belonging to the most affected sectors. Applications are submitted through Labora and funding won’t be granted according to the order of registration, but according to the national classification code for economic activity (CNAE), for which it is planned to grant each company or self-employed person a fixed amount of 600 euros plus 600 euros per employee or, where appropriate, 300 euros if they work part-time.
New Aid
In addition, the president has announced that tomorrow Friday, the regional government will approve two new aid decrees: an extraordinary aid package of 300 euros for the self-employed in the most affected sectors, for which a total of 8 million euros has been budgeted; secondly, a new package of aid aimed at the tourism sector, for which 18 million euros has been put aside, which will complement the aid approved so far.
Therefore, with the activation of these two grants, the Generalitat Valenciana has launched the four blocks of aid contemplated in the PLAN RESISTIR – the AYUDAS PARÉNTESIS grants managed by the municipalities; financial support aimed at companies, self-employed and employees in ERTE; the new financial instruments of the IVF, including the LÍNEA HORECA and participating loans; and the block of specific aid for sectors with sustained damage throughout the pandemic, which will be approved tomorrow.
