VALENCIAN GOVERNMENT TO ENHANCE AWARENESS OF NATURAL PARKS
The network of natural spaces includes the Parque Natural del Montgó.
The Minister of Environment, Water, Infrastructure and Territory at the Generalitat Valenciana, Salomé Pradas, has pledged to enhance the participation and visibility of the 22 natural parks of the Comunidad Valenciana in the next edition of ECOFIRA which will be held from November 12th to 14th at the Fería Valencia.
ECOFIRA brings together companies and public organisations for three days to present the latest advances in efficient environment management and Pradas said that it represents “a magnificent opportunity to highlight the Valencian natural parks“.
The network of Natural Parks of the Generalitat Valenciana includes Parque Natural del Montgó which was declared as a protected natural space in 1987. Witness to the passage of man since ancient times, the natural park has a high cultural and archaeological value whilst it also stands out for more than 650 species of flora.
The PN El Montgó includes the mountain that gives it the name, the 753m high summit, as well as the spectacular headland of Cabo de San Antonio, around which the Reserva Natural del Cabo de San Antonio was declared in 1994 to protect and raise awareness of the importance of the seabed and the biodiversity that its waters host.
As a whole, the PN El Montgó complex forms one of the most spectacular landscapes along the coast of the Valencian region. For more information, visit the official site which has information about the natural park’s history as well as the opening hours of the visitor’s centre in Dénia.
