Valencia tourism participates at the Routes Europa connectivity fair
After five years without having its own facility, the Generalitat Valenciana has designed a pavilion for the event that will be held from April 8 to 10 in Seville, and which is considered the largest event in the European airport industry.

After a five-year absence, Turisme Comunitat Valenciana will participatein the ‘Routes Europe 2025’ air connectivity event, which is being held in Seville this week, with the aim of establishing contacts for the opening of new routes and attracting flights to the region.
This is the largest event for the European airport industry, which will be attended by airlines, airports, airport and air navigation authorities, as well as air service providers and tourist destinations from across Europe.
The regional secretary for tourism, José Manuel Camarero, stated that “improving air connectivity is a strategic objective for the Valencian government, and that is why, after five years, we are returning to this event with our own stand“.
This event will include pre-arranged meetings and gatherings as well as numerous presentations, seminars, and briefings, both from the trade fair organizers and the participating airlines, providing an insight into a key sector for tourism and the economy.
Camarero explained that “we have planned meetings and professional gatherings with various airlines that operate in the Comunidad Valenciana or that have expressed interest in doing so, with the aim of presenting them with the business opportunities and tourism offerings that our destination offers“.
He added that “we have scheduled more than 20 meetings with airports and airlines from markets where we want to diversify our demand. These include nearby markets such as the Nordic countries and Germany, but also more distant markets such as the United States, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai“.
In recent years, the airports of the Comunidad Valenciana have experienced a significant increase in passenger and aircraft movements. Valencia Airport closed 2024 with a total of 10,811,672 passengers, representing an 8.7% increase compared to 2023, operating a total of 87,497 flights, 6.4% more than the previous year whilst Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport operated a total of 116,270 flights in 2024, 15.6% more than the previous year, and registered more than 18,387,387 passengers, 16.8% more than in 2023.
In this regard, the Regional Minister for Innovation, Industry, Trade, and Tourism, Marián Cano, has called on the central government to carry out the expansion of Valencian airports “as soon as possible” to meet growing demand.
