Ángeles Bas Cardona, 90 years young, has become the first person in Xàbia to receive the vaccination against COVID-19 that will hopefully mark the beginning of the end of the health crisis that has absorbed us all over the past nine months.

The programme has begun to administer the vaccine at residences for the elderly in the town, with 50 residents and 39 staff at the Asilo Hermanos Cholbi receiving the jab which aims to provide protection against the coronavirus. In the next few days, the vaccination programme will move to Residencia Bon Repòs.

Residence Director Bartolomé Chorro also received the jab

The start of the programme at the end of a very difficult year eases open the door of hope that next year will be one of recovery and a return to better times.
