Unwell walker evacuated by helicopter from San Antonio path
The patient was transferred urgently to hospital.

The rescue team from the Alicante Provincial Fire Department has evacuated a walker who fell unwell whilst ascending the path that leads from Cala del Tangó to the lighthouse at Cap de San Antoni.
After receiving the emergency call, the team travelled to the location of the incident where officers from the local police and volunteers from Protección Civil as well as a SAMU unit was already in place.
Paramedics performed a first examination of the patient and decided that he needed to be evacuated by helicopter. Through great skills of the pilot, the walker was lifted into the aircraft and taken urgently to hospital.
UPDATE: Sadly, at 12.30pm, it was confirmed that the walker had passed away.
