U3A Open Day at the Parador a great success!

The U3A Javea now has over 1,200 members from over 12 different countries who have made Javea their home.

As part of the U3As 20th Anniversary Celebrations, an Open Day was held at the Hotel de Parador on Wednesday 26th February. The councillor responsible for International Residents, Raquel Violero (PP), accompanied by Cristina Segura, responsible for RadarSeniors (part of Social Services for the Elderly), attended and were impressed with the range and number of activities on show, which included:-

Travel & Culture:
History, Music, Poetry, Travel
Outdoor Pursuits:
Cycling, Gardening, Walking, History Trips, Petanque,
Indoor Pursuits:
Cards (various groups), Chess, Cribbage, Knitting, Dancing, Art, Board Games, Painting, Puzzles, Snooker, Quizzing
Food & Drink:
Dining, Wine Appreciation
Education & Learning:
Book Clubs, Family History, History, Jewellery Making

And that was only 35 of the 46 Groups the U3A Javea have – the largest room in the Parador could not hold anymore!
