TRAM d’Alacant transported record 20.3 million passengers during 2024
The busiest month was June, with 2,028,022 journeys, and the busiest day of the year was June 22, with 115,670 journeys.
TRAM d’Alacant carried 20,267,803 passengers in 2024 on its four tram lines as well as the single TRAM train line and the single commuter line in its network, the highest figure in its 37 years of service in the province and 11.36% more than in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 2,074,941 passengers, breaking the record set in the previous year.
The number of journeys made on the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) network last year was recorded as 111,533,757 (TRAM d’ Alacant – 20,342,744 and Metrovalencia – 91,191,013), 2.55% more than 2023, which means an increase of 2,773,438 traffic movements compared to the previous year.
The months with the most trips last year were, in order, June (2,028,022), July (1,929,130), October (1,817,548), August (1,809,222), September (1,744,640), May (1,741,058), November (1,631,480), March (1,626,819), December (1,599,160), April (1,576,370), February (1,436,301) and January (1,402,994).
The data showed a daily average of 55,581 passengers throughout the entire TRAM d’Alacant network and a monthly average of 1,695,228 trips. The busiest day of the year was June 22, with 115,670 passengers, followed by June 23, with 113,270 and June 21, with 103,972 customers, the three dates within the Alicante Hogueras festivities and the only ones of the year that have exceeded 100,000 people.
Line 2 – The Most Popular Line
By lines, the most used during 2024 was Line 2, which connects Luceros with San Vicent del Raspeig with 8,187,254 passengers; followed by Line 1, which connects Luceros and Benidorm, with 4,207,050; Line 3, which links Luceros with El Campello, 3,283,776; Line 4, which connects Luceros with Plaza La Coruña, added 2,372,870; Line 5, the link between Porta del Mar and Plaza La Coruña, accumulated 1,162,324; and Line 9, which runs between Benidorm and Dénia, 1,129,470 passengers.

In terms of station traffic, Luceros once again led the ranking, with 3,529,622 passengers. It was followed by Mercado, with 2,721,829, and in third position Benidorm, with 1,425,501.
In fourth position was Marq-Castillo, with 1,244,484; in fifth place was Sant Vicent del Raspeig, which registered 1,100,735 movements; in sixth place was the station of El Campello, with 627,422; in seventh place was Pintor Gastón Castelló, with 598,602; in eighth place was Bulevar del Pla, with 598,385; in ninth place was Garbinet, with 564,460; and in tenth place was Hospital, with 482,140 users.
