Thursday 6th May 2021 – PRESS RELEASE with Mike Smith
Mayor José Chulvi and councillor Pepa Gisbert (Public Safety and Emergency Preventation) welcomed three students of the Emergency and Civil protection training cycle who are doing their internships with the Protección Civil branch in Xàbia.
The three students – two in the middle grade and the third in the upper cycle – will be working on various tasks related to emergency prevention over the next few months, including forest surveillance, the maintenance of fire equipment and hydrants, building inspection, support tasks in public safety, and review of self-protection plans for centres such as schools.
Protección Civil Xàbia is one of the first groups to have the official accreditation from the Valencian Agency for Security and Emergency Response. In addition to endorsing them in order to collaborate with professional fire-fighting units, the certification allow them the group to offer internships to people under training.
