Those under 60 who received first dose of AstraZeneca will receive appointments from Friday
Thursday 27th May 2021 – PRESS RELEASE with Mike Smith
From this Friday, the regional health ministry in the Comunidad Valenciana will be sending out second dose appointments to those under the age of 60 who received the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
The appointments will be sent out via SMS and the second dose will be of a Pfizer vaccine. However, people will be informed how to proceed if they decide to reject this particular vaccine as their second dose, and they will be sent another appointment at a later date for the AstraZeneca.
This procedure is in line with the agreement reached by the Public Health Commission which has decided to administer the Pfizer vaccine as a second dose, as well as the decision taken by the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System which, after consultion with the Bioethics Committee, agreed that people can reject the Pfizer second dose and, in order to guarantee completion of the course, choose to be vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine.
It is vitally important that contact details are kept up to date on the SIP system and the procedure can be done through the following link: here.
