The Valencian region promotes itself at the INTUR trade fair in Valladolid

The regional secretary of Tourism highlights the importance of attending the fair to publicize the region’s wide range of rural tourism.

The Comunidad Valenciana will be promoting its tourism potential at the XXIV International Interior Tourism Fair (INTUR) which is being held in Valladolid over the weekend on the November 19th-21st with the objective of attracting more tourists to the region.

TURISME will be taking part with a 100sqm stand in which the entire tourism potential of the region will be represented, providing space for all three provincial tourism boards – Castellón, València and Alicante – as well as Visit Benidowm, the Federation of Campsites, the Spanish Confederation for People with Physical and Mental Disabilities (COCEMFE) and municipalities of the Comunidad Valenciana.

In addition, Oropesa will be participating with the provincial board of Castellón, Sagunto, Canet d’En Berenguer, Cullera and Gandía as part of the Valencian offer, and Elche as part of the Costa Blanca package.

The regional tourism secretary, Francesc Colomer, stressed the importance of attending this trade fair “because it will allow us to show our wide range of rural and active tourism in all three provinces, which perfectly complements the usual attraction of the sun and the beach”.

He added that the region is working with the Creaturisme strategy which will allow it to diversify and offer alternative possibilities in the Comunidad Valenciana. “We are promoting initiatives such as rural tourism, ecotourism, active and adventure tourism, sports tourism, cycling tourism, and cultural tourism, which not only enriches our tourist potential but also complements it with other options”.

There will be two new features at INTUR this year. On Friday 19th November, the Gastronomic Capital City will be announced during the inauguration ceremony whilst a national gastronomy competition will be held on Friday and Saturday organised by the Spanish Federation of Cooks and Confectioners (FACYRE).

Within the framework of the fair, the INTUR Busineeses conference will be held on Thursday 18th November, an exclusive day for inland tourism professionals in which Turisme Comunitat Valenciana will be taking part. During this professional day, new work scenarios will be incorporated in which special attention is paid to MICE tourism and innovative solutions.

New spaces have been created such as INTUR PLUS, a space for exhibitors with a round table in which Turisme Comunitat Valenciana participating.

Turisme Comunitat Valenciana will also be taking part in the INTUR MICE space, an information point for companies interested in capturing professional events. Specifically, Turisme will host the Gandia Convention Bureau, Visit Benidorm and the Elche Convention Bureau.

In addition, job interviews will be held at ‘INTUR B2B’. The work format in this B2B space is based on interviews in the round tables occupied by buyers, tour operators and national and international travel agencies.

Likewise, agencies dedicated to the organization of events and religious tourism will also be present, in addition to those specialized in interior tourism as a whole.

Turisme Comunitat Valenciana has accredited several companies in the Community for their participation in this space such as COCEMFE, Tour & Kids, the Hotel del Golf Playa Castellón, Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciencies, and the Ruta del vino Utiel-Requena.
