Organised by the women of Club de Atletismo Llebeig, in collaboration with the Department of Xàbia, the popular event puts the icing on the cake of the programme marking International Women’s Day (IWD) and is once again intended to be a day when women are able to come together to enjoy this special occasion.
Representative of the athletics club, Madelane Powell, explained that registrations can be made online via the website www.somesport.com and in local businesses such as Esports Colau de Xàbia, Dénia and Ondara; in Botiga Decuero and in Inmobiliaria Llidomar. Registration is a 5 euro donation and the first 1,000 to register will receive a commemorative T-shirt.
As usual, the “race” will be based on the athletics track of CEIP Graüll, starting at 10.00am and following a five kilometre route to the port and back. It can be covered by running or walking, making it a suitable activity for all ages and physical abilities.
Both club representatives and the councillor responsible for Equality, Montse Villaverde, encouraged all women to come along and participate as well as enjoy a day where there is always a great atmosphere whilst at the same time collaborating with charitable causes.
Men can also take part through Filà Cero.
