The Moors & Cristians of Xàbia will begin preparing for their 2025 edition with the celebration of the ‘Mig Any’ this weekend Friday 21st February and Saturday 22nd February, the fiesta organising committee – ‘Junta de Festes‘ – once again structuring the celebration over two days given the success in popularity amongst both participants and the general public since the initiative that was established two years ago.

On Friday 21st, the Duanes de la Mar neighbourhood will once again resonate to the rhythm of the Moorish and Christian marches with a parade through the streets that will take place at 8.00pm. The route will follow a path that will cover some of the most traditional streets of the maritime district, starting from the iconic departure point of the summer Gala Parades, the archway of Pío X.

On Saturday 22nd, the day will start with a brotherhood brunch for all the members of the filas and will continue with more music and another parade at 12.30pm. On this occasion, the chosen route will go through some of the most important streets of Duanes de la Mar such as Calle Santísimo Cristo del Mar street and Avenida Jaime I.

Later, attention will focus on the Salones Carrasco where the traditional Gala Lunch will take place with representatives from the local council, other fiesta committees, and distinguished guests. After the lunch, the central act of the Mig Any celebrations will take place, which will proclaim Elvira Vives Segarra from Filà Schaitans and Ana Bisquert Ribes from Filà Bandoleres as the Flag Bearers of the Moorish and Christian sides for 2025 and will formally present this year’s Captaincy that will be held by the Filà Pirates de Sant Jaume.
