For the first time, the Department of Youth in Xàbia has launched the Valencian Youth Institute (IVAJ) JOOP youth opportunity guidance programme , an initiative funded by the European Social Fund which is designed to motivate and guide people among 16 and 21 years old who have dropped out of education early, a problem with a significant impact in the Comunidad Valenciana.

The playjove headquarters is hosting attitudinal coaching sessions that aim to give young people who arrive very disoriented, demotivated and with low levels of self-esteem a radical turn in their lives. To achieve this, they are encouraged to get out of their current state of inaction or apathy, foster group cohesion, adopt healthy lifestyles, and work on acquiring curricular skills.

With this tool they are offered the opportunity to change their vision of themselves and the world and, from there, start building their personal and professional future.

In addition, they are provided with guidance on the different professional families from a practical point of view, visiting companies where they are shown the real work to which each degree leads and can thus discover their true vocation.

According to the results of the previous editions of JOOP, more than 60% of young people participating in this initiative return to study or start working.
