Teresa Albero says goodbye to ARS NOVA

The soprano leaves the choir after five years as artistic director.

Thursday 16th December 2021 – PRESS RELEASE with Mike Smith

The soprano Teresa Albero and director of the group ARS NOVA has announced her departure from the choir after five years of great work as its artistic director.

Teresa joined ARS NOVA in 2016 and, under her direction, the choir has participated numerous and important projects, becoming a reference choir that little by little was showing its greatest value: the quality of its performances.

Since 2016 they have performed in Cologne, having been invited by the teacher and composer Palmeri, in Guipúzcoa, Murcia, Castellón, Co-Cathedral of Alicante, ADDA and an array of auditoriums, theatres and churches where they have been able to bring vocal music.

Albero has promoted different musical projects from the well-known Misa a Buenos Aires by Palmeri to the Requiem Op. 48 by Fauré with which they have obtained great successes such as last Saturday 11th December in Alcoy under the direction of Molina-González.

Albero, who fully believes that music and culture are necessary to improve the society in which we live, is the founder of one of the most important projects of ARS NOVA: the PETIT ARS, which is a unique children’s choir that will perform its first concert this Sunday 19th December at 5.00pm.

Teresa Albero thanks, first of all, each and every one of the members who have been part of ARS NOVA, as well as the board of directors that has always supported the decisions and perspectives of artistic growth.

No less important is the gratitude that the soprano feels in relation to the town of Xàbia and especially to the culture team headed by councilor Quico Moragues.

Albero leaves the group satisfied and grateful for everything he has experienced. As a soprano, the schedule that is presented to her in 2022 has led her to make this decision, one that she describes as difficult but necessary.

This Sunday 19th December will be her last concert at the head of the group, a performance that she hopes will be very special and full of emotion.
