Xàbia Council has put out to tender the contract for municipal road resurfacing project, an ambitious initiative aimed at improving the municipality’s road network by repairing the surface on several streets. This is the first phase of the plan, which will focus on five areas of the municipality, with the aim of optimizing road safety, improving traffic quality, and contributing to the preservation of urban pavements. Furthermore, the council will continue working in this direction and already plans to continue improving other streets in the municipality.

The project includes the improvement of several streets spread across five areas of the municipality:

Zone 1: Lluca-Tarraula-Adsubia In this area, the road surface will be repaired on Alberto Camus, Francesc Gimeno, Camí de la Grava, Honoré Daumier, Río Sil, Serpis, Segura, and Vell de la Granadella streets. These roads show significant wear due to the passage of time and vehicle traffic, so their repair will significantly improve traffic safety.

Zone 2: Cabo de la Nao Resurfacing will be carried out on Calle Truita-Mar Azul, Calle Rascassa and Calle Berbena. This work will improve road surface grip and improve driver comfort in this coastal area of Xàbia.

Zone 3: Cap Martí-Arenal-Tosalet The following streets have been included in the plan: Azalea, Asutzena, Avenida Augusta, Camí de les Basses, the Tamarits roundabout with Avenida de Estrasburgo, Donzella, Enebro, Lligabosc, Margallo, Pèsol, Camí Pou del Moro, Roncadell, and Safanoria. These streets connect different residential areas and developments, so their repair will benefit both residents and visitors.

Zone 4: Montgó-Valls In this area, the Cuesta de San Antonio, Calle Dénia, Mieres, Montemajor, Vell de Gata, Dinamarca, and Pic de la Batalla will be repaired. This project will improve access to one of the municipality’s most iconic areas, facilitating more comfortable and safe driving.

Zone 5: Cascos-Cabo San Antonio Improvements will be made to Calle Albocàsser, Calle Altea, Calle Huelva, Calle Juan Carlos I at number 19, Calle Malta at its intersection with Calle Camí Sortetes, Calle Palmela, Calle Castellet, and Calle Paradis. This area includes busy roads, so the resurfacing will contribute to optimizing urban mobility.

Improving the municipality’s road infrastructure is a priority for the local council, ensuring streets are in optimal condition for vehicular and pedestrian traffic. The implementation of this first phase of the Municipal Asphalt Plan responds to a strategic plan that prioritizes the needs of residents, optimizing public resources to improve the quality of life in the municipality.

This action is part of a continuous improvement plan that seeks to modernize local infrastructure, contributing to the well-being of citizens and the sustainable development of Xàbia.
