Xàbia Council is launching a new edition of the ‘Campaña Bons Consum’, an initiative aimed at reactivating local commerce to generate a positive impact of the municipality’s economy. A total of 634,000 euros has been invested in the campaign, a significant investment made possible through funding worth some 317,000 euros from the Alicante Provincial Council.
The vouchers, which are worth 100 euros, will be made available to registered residents of Xàbia over the age of 18 who can buy them for 50 euros, the municipal contribution doubling their value to offer a direct tool to promote local consumption.
The councillor responsible for Economic Promotion, Juanlu Cardona, explained that “The [initiative] is a very effective tool to boost our local trade and give our citizens direct aid that doubles the value of their investment. We are very pleased that this year we reached twice as many people, benefiting not only families, but also the businesses in Xàbia, which are essential to our economy and daily life.”
This year the campaign will reach twice as many people as the previous campaign, some 6,340 citizens, which will allow a greater number of residents in Xàbia to benefit from the initiative, encouraging purchases in 106 participating local businesses which represent a wide variety of sectors.
The vouchers can be purchased online from 2.00pm on Friday 22nd November through the official website bonsconsum.xabia.es. They will be valid for use until Sunday 15th December, giving holders plenty of time take advantage of this opportunity.
For those over the age of 65 who prefer a physical card and cannot use the mobile app, it will be necessary to make an online payment first and then request an appointment to collect it from the town hall offices.
