Sergio Pereira Quintet raises the curtain on the Xàbia Jazz 100 season
The comedian Pepa Cases will be in charge of adding humor to the Thursday night stand-up comedy season.

Xàbia begins February in the best way with a full cultural programme of events. On Thursday 2nd at 8.00pm at the Municipal Library in the port, there is a new appointment with humour with the performance of the versatile comedian Pepa Cases as part of the Thursday night stand-up comedy season. She will be presenting her monologue “Soc Hiperactiva” and admission is free.
On Friday 3rd February, there will be the first concert in the ‘Jazz a 100’ season based in the Casa de la Cultura in the Plaça del Baix in the heart of the historic centre, a performance by the Sergio Pereira’s Quintet, a talented Brazilian guitarist, composer and arranger recognised by both the public and critics alike. Admission is five euros and advance ticket can be purchased here.
On Saturday 4th February, another season promoted by the Department of Culture will also commence; the children’s cinema in the Valencian language. The film ‘Bon Día, Món’ will be screened at the Casa de la Cultura at 5.30pm.
On Sunday 5th February, the first concert of the ‘Sun-Day Swing’ festival will finally kick off after being postposed last Sunday due to rain. The Ocean Spray Trio will be performing at 12 noon on the Plaza de la Comare Maruja Varó in the port and will be aimed at lovers of lindy hop dance.
