San Bartolomé church inaugurates parish museum

The exhibition space will be formally opened on Thursday 22nd August at 8.00pm.


The parish church of San Bartolomé has converted an old archive space into a museum to exhibit a series of works donated by the residents as well as by the congregation of the Augustinians as well as pieces from the parish itself.

Some of the works are from the 17th century, such as a Virgen de la Consolación and a piece of furniture from the end of the 17th century / beginning of the 18th century for displaying an image of the Virgin Mary.

Mayor Rosa Cardona was joined by the councillor response for Culture, Mavi Pérez (CPJ), and the councillor responsible for Water Distribution, José Marcos Pons (Vox), together with other members of the government team for a special visit to the exhibition space with explanations from the historian Ana Hernández, the local restorer, Vicent Catalá and Don Juan Antonio, Don Santiago and Don Eloy.

The museum will open on Friday 22nd August at 8.00pm, followed by a small group tour at 8.30pm. The next day, Saturday 23rd August, the museum will be open to small groups between 10.00am and 12.00pm.
