Rosa Cardona: We have resolved more than 72 deficiencies in the pool and only two remain
The session lasted for more than two hours as the mayor sought to give all the available information about the status of the swimming pool.

In the extraordinary plenary session convened on this morning (Thursday), mayor Rosa Cardona gave all the available information about the state of the municipal swimming pool, explaining that the local council has resolved more than 72 deficiencies that had been detected, with only the last two pending, amongst which is the most important, the repair of the overflow channel which is essential to guarantee the safety of pool users.
She added that in a meeting held with the Department of Public Health, she made it clear that the facility cannot be opened until this deficiency is resolved since the accumulation and contamination of water from the two pool basins is not permitted as it represents a risk to the safety of users.
She said that the government team had opted for absolute transparency through the entire process which is why the doors of the swimming pool complex were opened last week to allow an inspection visit by all municipal representatives as well as the media who were duty bound to convey the reality of the situation to the general public. In addition, the extraordinary session was broadcast live in YouTube.
In addition, the first item on the agenda of the extraordinary session was the official incorporation of Olga Sales Serrana as a councillor representative of the socialist group, who replaces Rosana Sapena who resigned last December.
