The Diputación de Alicante is carrying out road safety improvement work on the roundabout at the junction of Camí Cabanes / Travesía de Cansalades and Calle Bruxelles / Haya from Monday 6th May which will require traffic to be diverted so that the work can be carried out normally and that the effects on daily traffic movement are minimized.

The various alternative routes have been prepared (see also images below):

  • The section between the Camí Cabanes roundabout “Carrasco roundabout” and the Carretera del Pla / Portitxol (Consum) roundabout will be closed.
  • Travesía de les Cansalades will be closed to vehicle traffic in the section between Calle Arborcer (next to Punt Verd) and the “Carrasco roundabout”.
  • Drivers who wish to go in the direction of Camí Cabanes from the Carretera del Portitxol must take the Carretera del Pla and the “masymas” roundabout, then take Avenida de Strasburgo, Calle Bruxelles and the Carrasco roundabout, which will only allow them to exit in the direction of Camí Cabanes. The direction of traffic on Calle Haya will be in the opposite direction to the current one (that is, exit towards Arenal).
  • Drivers who wish to head towards the Portitxol or Arenal from Camí Cabanes, will detour along Calle Alborcer (next to Punt Verd) to exit at the “Consum roundabout” and take the desired direction.
  • To access the Camí Cabanes from the “Carrasco roundabout”, drivers must do so via the Camí de les Adsubies or if they want to reach the Pinosol area via the Camí Cansalades.
  • Heavy vehicles (over 3.5 T: trucks, buses, etc.) may only use the Camí Cabanes to circulate. Only heavy vehicles dedicated to construction and services may travel through the Travesía de les Cansalades, but using said road as access and exit at its junction with Carretera de Benitatxell (CV-740).

The Diputación de Alicante has arranged provisional signage at all points and intersections and passage for residents of the areas is guaranteed, however, conditional on the progress of the work.

The Policía Local asks for understanding and patience from residents of the area.
