Retirement of Isabel Bolufer makes local government re-shuffle effective

The plenary hears the resignation of the socialist councillor who leaves politics amid applause and the recognition of the whole council.

Xàbia Council held an extraordinary plenary session on Friday in which the resignation of socialist councillor Isabel Bolufer was formally announced. During the session, representatives of all local political parties dedicated emotional words of farewell to Isabel, who was responsible for Town Planning and Integral Water Cycle and was the first female councillor in Xàbia during her first stage in local politics in 1983.

Mayor José Chulvi thanked Isabel for her dedication and honesty as a municipal official, managing a department as complex as town planning by putting honesty and general interests first. She also contributed her experience, serenity and common sense to the socialist political project. Thus, the council said goodbye with a round of applause and genuine wishes of good luck, health and energy to enjoy her new stage in her life.

Once the resignation has taken effect, the new representative of the PSPV, Doris Courcelles, will take the oath of office in the next plenary session and the local government will start working with its new organization in which the councillors of Ciudadanos por Jávea (CPJ) will assume their responsibilities within the local governing body.

Councillor Pepa Gisbert will be taking on Town Planning and Urbanism, in addition to maintaining Personnel, whilst Doris Courcelles will return to Foreign Resident Liaison and Urbanizations. From the CPJ, Juan Ortolá will manage Citizen Security, Protección Civil, Mobility and Transport, whilst Susanna Ern will take on Heritage, Municipal Markets, Fairs and Weekly Markets.

Within the PSPV, Toni Miragall will be responsible for the Integral Water Cycle, which will be directly related to his other responsibilities in Environment and Agriculture, whilst also maintaining Tourism. Finally, Marta Bañuls, reduces her management burden to make it compatible with her personal life and will focus on the areas of Economic Development and Port neighbourhood.
