Public bathrooms to be installed in Granadella and Portitxol during the summer

The units will be provided with six cubicles, two basins and two mirrors in each.

Visitors to the hugely popular beaches of Cala Granadella and Cala Portitxol/Barraca will be able to benefit from the installation of public bathrooms this summer.

The Department of Beaches has launched the tender process to find a suitable company who will be able to provide these hygienic services to the two beach zones which attract a large number of users during the summer months and lack enough facilities.

The specifications of the contract require the bathroom units to be available for rent for a period of two years (with an option to extend for two further years) between June 15th and October 15th each year for a maximum of 5,227.20 euros (including IVA) per year. Each unit will be provided with six top-quality toilet cubicles, two sink basins and two mirrors.

The contract requires that the winning company be in charge of its installation and removal, and that municipal staff will organise the connection to the drinking water network, the sanitation network and the electrical network.
