Construction company Proyecon Galicia has returned to work on Xàbia’s much vaunted auditorium this Monday. An employee has entered the skeleton of the building next to the music conservatory to start emptying the water that has been sitting at the bottom of the structure after the rains of recent months.

Families of the children who attend the nearby nursery as well as residents in the surrounding area have repeatedly complained about the presence of large numbers of mosquitoes as well as the unhealthy situation that has arisen from having a large amount of sitting stagnant water.

This Monday, one of the workers entered the structure to install a water pump to extract the water from the bottom of the construction site.

Is this a sign that work is underway to resume this iconic project? In 30 days it will be a year since XAD wrote about the construction work having stopped … the rest of the story we already know.
