Once again, the Department of Citizen Security and Emergencies in Xàbia has deployed the vigilance service to keep watch against forest fires during the days of Semana Santa and Easter.
Protección Civil will be in charge of this extra vigilance, carrying out two daily shifts between 10.00am and 9.00pm on the days of April 6th to 10th (from Maundy Thursday to Easter Monday) and then from April 15th to 17th, the Sant Vicent holiday weekend.
The volunteers will be located at points with good visibility to control the municipal area and will also patrol areas such as Parque Pinosol, those close to forest masses, and where many people gather to enjoy Easter in the open air. In that sense, caution and citizen collaboration are requested when making barbecues or using rockets, firecrackers or similar and any other device that contains fire.
Another vigilance service that has been deployed during the Easter holidays is the surveillance and lifeguard service on the Arenal beach. Last weekend the lifeguard post of this family beach opened and it will be provide service from April 6th to 10th, from April 15th to 17th and then during the next long holiday weekend on April 29th, 30th, May 1st and 2nd.
