The Public Prosecutor’s Office is calling for an eight year prison sentence for a man accused of trying to beat another to death in the vicinity of a bar in Xàbia, in a case that will be tried next week at the Alicante Province Court.

According to the qualifications document provided by the TSJCV, the attack occurred in April 2018, when the defendant, the perpetrator of a crime of attempted murder, along with other individuals, pushed a person and threw him to the ground, where they began to hit him. Specifically, the defendant kicked him several times in the face and head, rendering him unconscious.

The victim took 397 days to recover and was left with consequences that make it impossible for him to work or carry out the activities of a normal life and it is for all these reasons that the Public Prosecutor’s Office has called for eight years in prison for the accused.
