The pace of the vaccination campaign across the Comunidad Valenciana has been increasing and it was forecast that May and June would be months in which the administration of the jabs would intensify, aiming to achieve a high degree of immunity in the population so that it provide a great defense to counteract the effects of the COVID-19 virus.

From next Monday 24th May, a total of 133 vaccination points throughout the region will be activated, adding to the existing points in order to further speed up the pace of the vaccination. In Xàbia, the multipurpose room at Portal del Clot will be the vaccination point for a large part of the population of the town and, indeed, many of those who have recently received their first dose have been given appointments to attend this location for their second jab of the Pfizer, Moderna or AstraZeneca. The Portal del Clot facilities are perfect for the administration of the jabs since there is a car-park underneath and the bus station and further parking is just a short walk away.

Portal del Clot is not the only vaccination point to be added to the system in the Marina Alta region. There will also be points activated in Teulada-Moraira (Auditori), Ondara (EL Prado multipurpose room), Pedreguer (the well-known Rockodrom), Gata de Gorgos (the municipal sports hall), Pego (the Ausias March pavilion which has been the point for Les Valls), Rafól de Almunia (the municipal sports centre), Calp (the sports centre), El Verger (the pavilion) and Benissa (Palau Sant Pere). In addition, the Llunàtics venue will continue to operate as a mass vaccination point.

With the exception of Xàbia, Teulada-Moraira, Ondara and Pedreguer, the rest of the municipalities in the region that will begin the large vaccination process will be doing so in their sports facilities which are most conducive to housing a great number of people whilst also guaranteeing the relevant health protocols.
