New outbreak affecting 7 identified in Xàbia, related to work
There have now been 47 outbreaks of the coronavirus in the Marina Alta since the pandemic began.

9.278 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed through PCR or antigen tests; by province, the distribution of these new cases is 1,295 in Castellón, 3,827 in Valencia, and 4,165 in Alicante. In total, 283,258 positive cases have been recorded in the Comunidad Valenciana. There are currently 26 unassigned cases.
Outbreaks
There have been a total of 74 new outbreaks of the disease across the Comunidad Valenciana; by province, the distribution is 11 in Castellón, 51 in Valencia, and 12 in Alicante, of which 6 were in the Marina Alta region as follows:
- Calp: 2 outbreaks – 6 cases (social) / 4 cases (social)
- Dénia: 2 outbreaks – 7 cases (social) / 6 cases (social)
- Pego: 1 outbreak – 5 cases (social)
- Xàbia: 1 outbreak – 7 cases (work)
There have now been 47 outbreaks of the coronavirus in the Marina Alta in 2021.
Active Cases
The data shows that there are currently 72,036 active cases of COVID-19 in the Comunidad Valenciana, with represents 24.44% of the total number of positives cases recorded.
Deaths
There have been 95 deaths from COVID-19, bringing the total for the Comunidad Valenciana to 4,415 people; by province, the distribution of the deaths is 529 Castellón, 2,305 Valencia, and 1,581 Alicante.
Hospitalization
There are 4,594 people currently in hospitals across the Comunidad Valenciana who are being treated for the COVID-19 infection; by province, the distribution is 467 Castellón with 48 patients in ICU, 2,342 Valencia with 346 in ICU, and 1,785 Alicante with 230 in ICU.
Recoveries
7,271 recoveries from COVID-19 have been registered; in total, 218,314 people in the Comunidad Valenciana have overcome the disease since the pandemic began.
Vaccination
110,197 doses of the vaccination have been administered throughout the Comunidad Valenciana, 107,533 Pfizer/BioNtech and 2,664 Modena. Up to now, 9,368 people has completed the vaccination programme in our region.
