A new business will be opening in the Mercat Municipal – the indoor market – taking over a empty position inside the building. Rosario Pérez Vargas will be offering edible, ecological and bio-healthy products after successfully bidding for the position.
Now, she will have a few days to finish the administrative process and present all the necessary documentation before she will be able to open the position for business.
In a bid to find businesses to occupy the four remaining vacant positions, the Department of Economic Development, headed by councillor Juanlu Cardona, has advanced the necessary procedures to open them for the bidding process.
According to a study that the department carried out to determine the requirements inside the market, the terms and conditions call for businesses such as greengrocers, fruit shops, takeaway food, hardware shops or those offering sustainable cleaning products to consider applying. Hospitality venues are excluded.
The councillor explained that filling the empty positions in the indoor market is a local council priority because a fully working municipal market place that attracts people will be of great benefit to the rest of the historic centre of Xàbia.
He added that his department is working with Services and Town Planning on a number of improvements for the indoor market, both in terms of function and internal organization, to meet the demands of the vendors.
