The 420 class sailors of the Club Náutico Jávea managed to climb to the top of the podium in the Trofeo Magdalena held last weekend at the Real Club Náutico de Castellón.

They were the pairs of Nando Puig and Kevin Lenis and, in the women, Arantza Reig and Lucy Crosbie. Puig and Lenis only gave up the lead in two heats whilst their colleagues Crosbie and Reig were third overall. In the boys’ classification, Ángel Poveda and Joel Ferrer were fourth, and in girls, the Baker sisters, Amelia and Elsepth, were the third best of the entire trophy.

Five sailors from the Optimist fleet in the Gold group of the Optiorange

The Optimist fleet reaped very good results in the Optiorange, held last weekend at the Real Club Náutico de Valencia.

Five sailors from the Club Náutico Jávea competed in the Gold group, which groups the best classified, and Mateo Carbonell finished among the top 20 of an event that brought together more than 440 young sailors from Spain and from different parts of the world.

Mateo Carbonell was 19th overall, with a brilliant start the first two days, with three first places and one third.

Liam Woods was 26th overall, Raul Martinez was 42nd overall, Lewis McGregor 59 and Begoña Pérez Manglano 84.

Behind were Arthur Bear Baker 105, Charlotte Crosbie 113, Mauro Poveda 142, Carlota Gómez 183, Elena Pérez Manglano 192 and Pelayo Poveda 247.
