Mayor José Chulvi and the councillor responsible for Sport, Alberto Tur, visited the site of the municipal swimming pool on Wednesday, a project that began a year ago and is already well advanced enough for the contractors to be confident to forecast completion next April.
Construction has focused on the installation of the roof which, when completed, will allow the building to be closed up and for installation and completion of the two pool basins, the basement where all the water treatment systems will be located, the changing rooms and the cafeteria on the ground floor and the gymnasium and grandstand on the first floor with a lift connecting the two.
The construction company Contratos Vilor confirmed that the bulk of the 4.7 million euro project has been completed and that they forecast that it will be finished by April, ahead of schedule. Both the mayor and the sports councillor expressed their excitement at seeing how the project is developing, one that the will meet a historic demand of the town.
The swimming pool complex, covering just over 3,000 square metre, is located next to the municipal sports centre – to which a physical connection has already been completed – and will consist of two swimming pools, changing rooms including those for competing teams, an activity room for gymnastics, a three-row grandstand and a small cafeteria.
The project cost is 4,679,118.40 euros, of which 3 million euros was provided by the Generalitat Valenciana.
